On 8 December 2025, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation hosted a round table on the topic the Approaches to Updating the Legislation of the Russian Federation in Mediation. The event was moderated by Ruslan Smashnev, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building.
Daria Zhdan-Pushkina, Executive Director of the Solis Mediation Center, mediator, arbitrator and lecturer at the Higher School of Economics, spoke on the topic "International Organization for Mediation. Russia's Opportunities and Prospects if Russia Joins the IOMed". In her message, Daria Zhdan-Pushkina spoke about the history of the IOMed, the rights and obligations of IOMed member states, the geography of participants to date, and also showed, using the example of Russia's interests in Africa, how IOMed can help in resolving international commercial disputes.
As the result of the speech, Daria Zhdan-Pushkina suggested holding separate public discussions on the possibility and prospects of Russia joining IOMed with the participation of mediators and business representatives.
